Meet Doug Jacobs and Staff

Thank you for taking the time to meet me! In a similar manner, I hope to make your acquaintance in the near future. I am a true Alabama native. I was born in Birmingham, educated at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and moved to Decatur after graduation. In 1998, my wife, Perri, and I moved to Gulf Shores Alabama. I have lived in North Alabama, Central Alabama and now South Alabama. My plans are to retire in this beautiful area. We have 3 children, all of whom are grown and 1 grandson.

I received my real estate license in 1985. I have been a full-time Realtor since 1988. I love purchasing, listing and selling real estate. I have achieved many educational and personal awards. They include the GRI (Graduate of the Real Estate Institute), the ABR (Accredited Buyer’s Representative) and the prestigious CRS (Certified Residential Specialist). I was president of the Morgan County Association of Realtors which was important to me because I was elected by my peers. I worked with RE/MAX of Decatur from 1990 to 1998 and moved to Gulf Shores where I worked with RE/MAX of Gulf Shores from 1998 to 2004. I was the 4th Realtor at RE/MAX of Gulf Shores to be inducted into the highly acclaimed RE/MAX Hall of Fame. In 2004, I opened my own real estate company. I chose the name Doug Jacobs Real Estate because I wanted clients to know who I was and I wanted my business to be personal. At this time, I have one other licensee and one unlicensed assistant. I do not want to be the biggest real estate company on the coast, just the best!

At this time, I sell lots, land, homes and condominiums. I specialize in happy people. If customers and clients aren’t happy, I don’t get referrals from their family and friends. If that doesn’t happen, I’m not happy. I make every effort to ensure that every transaction is a happy transaction.

Although selling real estate in this beautiful coastal region is my full-time job, it feels more like a relaxing hobby because I am fortunate in living where thousands vacation and relax. Heather Hitchcock, Administrative Licensed Assistant for Doug Jacobs:

Unlike Doug, I am a “transplant” to Alabama. I was born and raised in Meridian, Mississippi. After graduating high school I moved to Oxford, Mississippi and attended the University of Mississippi, affectionately known as “Ole Miss.” In 1999 I graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a double major of Real Estate and Managerial Finance.

My husband, Presley, and I met and married while I was at Ole Miss and he was obtaining in R.N. degree. We had visited the Alabama Gulf Coast while in college and fell in love. After graduation we moved to Foley and bought our first home which came with a house warming gift of our first pregnancy. I worked for a local bank for a short time then decided being a full time stay at home mom was the best for our family. Fast forward seven years and now there are a total of three little boys, Kaden, age 6, and twins Landon and Grayson age 4. While the kids were all preschoolers I worked in mother’s day out programs where I could make some new contacts for the future and also be with my boys. The summer before Kaden started kindergarten I was introduced to Doug by his then current assistant who went to church with my family. She moved out of town and wanted to help him find a good replacement. She felt I was up to the task, and recommended me to Doug. I’ve been with him part time ever since.

I am a family oriented person and take great pride in helping others. I regularly volunteer at Foley Elementary School where Kaden attends. I also enjoy working with children at First Baptist Foley where my family attends church. I am so blessed and excited to have the opportunity to help you find the property of your dreams
